Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Mnicoujou Lakota Nation, hand paints the image of an emerging Bear spirit, its paws are seen gripping the edge of the physical world.

Jim paints with acrylic paint, he free hand paints all of his imagery. He decorates the shield with imitation eagle and imitation red tail hawk feathers. Jim adds a cluster of leather with metal and glass beads, imitation bear claw and a glass beaded bear paw.

The piece is signed by the artist.
