Red Willow Bark: Can'sa'sa is back!

We've searched long and hard to come up with a good source for red willow bark, our local harvest did not pan out as the freeze did not work out for us. So, we received samples from various sources and finally, (Yay!) we found what we were looking for.

This is the harvest from the winter of 2014, the harvest for 2015 will not be ready until late November or December (2015) and then the processing will begin. So an actual 2015 harvest will not be ready for sale until sometime in 2016, I hope that makes sense and please feel free to contact us at 800-456-3394 or e-mail us at info@siouxtrading.com if you have any questions or if you are in need of further assistance.

There are going to be some changes for botanicals as the years go on, Mother Nature cannot always provide and sometimes needs our assistance, for instance, over harvesting has depleted supplies, pulling plants by their roots has destroyed natural patches of important herbs. Drought is right up there with the negative effects and development. We are not hacking on folks who build but sometimes the environment is sacrificed for the development and locations that had been used for harvesting herbs are no longer available as there is now a housing development or town built on top of it.

So as the years go on we ask that folks be good wild crafters and keep the future in mind while gathering season after season.
