Beadwork Techniques of the Native Americans: Book Review

Beadwork Techniques of the Native Americans

By: Scott Sutton. Crazy Crow Trading Post 2008.

This book shows techniques of four styles of beadwork including loom, two needle applique’, peyote or gourd stitch, and lazy stitch. It also explains Plains hard-soled moccasins with designs. Great colored and up-close illustrations enhance the book.

This is a high quality book clearly explaining how to perform these styles of arts and crafts. It could be used for beginners or advanced crafts people. The colors, designs, scale, and layouts are helpful. Technique and style can be understood. The beading projects can be for dance clothing or street wear for male or female.

The author has been beading since the age of six and supplies a lot of experience and background in this field. His goal is to explain a project as trouble free as possible.
