Hand painted by Bad River Band Chippewa artist Mike McLeod. Some Plains cultures tell the story that stars are the campfires of our ancestors who are waiting for us to join them.

Mike paints the skull with acrylic paint. He leaves the horn covers unfinished and adds glass beaded bracelets at the base of the horns. He hangs wool cloth strips that he has decorated with imitation eagle feathers.
