Description
Mnicoujou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded carves this horse dance stick to commemorate the relationship between Hunters, Warriors and Horses. On one side of the dance stick, Jim has painted warriors riding out, on the other side he painted a hunter riding out.
Jim carves the dance stick from wood, he paints the wood with acrylic paint. He decorates the dance stick with real horse hair for the forelock, mane and tail. He finishes the decoration of the piece with a carved arrow point, large metal bell, glass bead dangles and two imitation eagle feathers. The piece is signed by the artist.
