Description

Zintkáto (Blue Bird) was a Lakota woman living on the Pine Ridge Reservation whose name was on an old U.S. census roll of the reservation. Inspired by reading these names, Oglala Lakota artist, Lorri Ann Two Bulls, portrays the women in her ledger drawings. This colored pencil, ink, and watercolor image is rendered on an authentic 1894 tax levy receipt from Stanley County, SD.

The artwork is further enhanced with conservation framing.
