Oglala Lakota artist Faye Charging Thunder both hand and machine sews this particular star quilt.  She uses a combination of different shades of pretty purple fabric to create the design.  The star quilt can be machine washed, but dry cleaning is still recommended to keep the colors bright and vibrant.
