Native American quilt maker Delilah McPherson, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, hand sews her baby quilts with cotton material. For Delilah, a seasoned seamstress, hand sewing is easier. 

Delilah uses cotton material, the baby quilt can be washed with mild detergent and hung to dry. She says to shake the quilt and fluff on the lowest setting on your dryer.
