Description

Native American artist Travis Tremblay, Listuguj Mi’kmaq Canada, uses dyed porcupine quills and glass beads on deer leather to create this knife sheath. 

Travis cleans and dyes the quills with commercial dye, he uses the glass beads to edge the sheath. He adds dyed red and blue hackles (feathers) at the end of quill wrapped dangles. He finishes the sheath with a long leather hanger. The sheath measures 10 inches long by 3 inches wide, the opening is about an inch.
