This particular piece is made by artist Michael McLeod Sr. (Chippewa Bad River Band).  He uses commercially tanned deer leather as his canvas and hand paints the “War Horse Honoring” design with acrylic paints. The hide is also decorated with abalone shell discs, leather fringe, beads, and blue and red ribbon. The piece is signed as well.
