Native American artist Jim Little Wounded (Mnicoujou Lakota) hand paints the image of buffalo tracks which represents a prominent symbol of strength and protection onto the shield.  Jim uses acrylic paints and decorates the shield with a combination of intricate beadwork of a buffalo hoof and a small hand crafted buffalo charm.  The shield is also accented with hawk bells, imitation red tail hawk and imitation golden eagle feathers.  The piece is also signed by Jim.
