Local Mnicoujou Lakota Nation member Jim Little Wounded hand paints the image of a group of Buffalo Spirits who provide guidance and remind us to stay strong.

Jim paints the shield with acrylic paint. He adds a cluster of imitation feathers, leather thongs with glass beads. Jim uses dyed horse with metal cones and metal beads. He finishes the shield with a beaded Buffalo Spirit amulet, the amulet features glass beads and real buffalo hair.

The piece is signed by the artist.
