Description

Local Mnicoujou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded created this rawhide (parfleche) cylinder and then painted the piece with images of spirit bear paws. Jim uses deer rawhide and paints with acrylic paints.

Each end of the cylinder is painted and attached with leather lacing, you use the leather lacing to secure the ends closed. Jim attached a hanger, long leather fringe, metal bells and and imitation eagle fluff. The cylinder without fringe measures 17 inches long by 4 1/2 inches tall.
