Description
Local Oglala Lakota artist Kevin D. Fast Horse Sr. hand beads this bag with hand cut glass Italian beads in the Cheyenne Pink medicine color for the background. Pink is a super hard color to achieve with earth paints, once you mastered the color it would only be used for special pieces, pink is not a gender specific color for the Northern Plains Native Americans.
Kevin uses a commercially tanned deer hide, he uses all of the leather no matter the condition so there are small imperfection from the tanning process. The actual useable bag section measures 15 inches long by 5 inches wide. Kevin added a decorated leather thong to help cinch the bag closed.
The piece is signed by the artist.
