Description
Local Oglala Lakota beadwork artist Kevin Fast Horse Sr. hand beads with glass beads on commercially tanned deer leather. Kevin is skilled when it comes to using hand cut glass beads from Italy, each bead has to be spun on the needle to ensure the fit is perfect and that the rows of beads lay down neatly. His work can be described as neat and tidy.
Kevin adds a long shoulder strap for easier use, he lines the inside of the purse with felt and weighs down the flap closure with large glass and metal beads. The shoulder strap is fastened with an abalone shell and long leather thongs with glass and metal beads. The actual useable bag area is 12 inches tall by 7 inches wide.
