Native American artist Kevin Fast Horse sr., Oglala Lakota, hand beads this large tobacco bag with hand cut glass Italian beads on commercially tanned deer leather. Kevin builds the bag with a cinch closure that ties with attached leather thong. He decorates the opening of the bag with a loop stitch using more pink beads. The actual useable area of the bag measures 12 inches long by 5 inches wide.

Pink is a powerful color, it’s hard to replicate using mineral paints and once you mastered the color it would only be used on very special pieces like pouches used to carry tobacco.
