Created by Native American artist Derrick Bear, Dakota Nation Standing Buffalo Group Ontario, he makes a full sized horse mask that can be used. Wearing a horse mask is an act of faith on the part of the horse, the horse has to trust in his rider.

Derrick completely beads the whole piece and then finishes the edges with red cloth and short fringe, the fringe hangs 3 1/2 inches. The inside of the mask is lined with cotton material.
