Native American artist Thomas Ridley obtained something old and makes it new. Thomas uses a 1930's umbrella as a medium for his beadwork designs.
Thomas beaded this piece, by hand, with opaque Czech beads. The umbrella measures 30 inches across while open and is 18 inches from umbrella tip to bottom of handle. He finishes the decoration of the umbrella with old stock Italian Chevron beads, brass thimble, silk ribbon and a wool wrapped imitation eagle feather.
