SD Festival of Books
Celebrate the literary arts at the 9th annual South Dakota Festival of Books! This year, the Festival's focus is on works with an American Indian cultural theme.
October 7 - 9, this annual event will feature a gathering of distinguished authors from across the region and around the country, giving visiting bibliophiles the chance to talk with their favorite writers, get their books signed, watch presentations, see panel discussions, and listen to readings.
The South Dakota Humanities Council is proud to present festival offerings ranging from award-winning, national attractions to exciting career debuts. Their line up of presenters includes this year's One Book South Dakota author Joseph Marshall III, some returning faces, such as Elizabeth Cook-Lynn, Virginia Driving Hawk Sneve, Ernie LaPointe, Donald Montileaux, and Susan Power…as well as a few newcomers such as Stephen Graham Jones, Diane Glancy, and Delphine Red Shirt.
During the Festival, guests will also get to enjoy American Indian style food and music.
Come out and see us!
We will also be in attendance showcasing our collection of Native American books, music and movies. Look for us in the Exhibitor's Hall located in the Deadwood Pavillion/Chamber of Commerce.
