Native American Made: Buffalo Mystery Shield

Native American artist Jim Little Wounded uses his artistic skills to create a shield that honors the Buffalo and the spirit of the Buffalo.

Jim uses soft deer leather for the cover, he paints the cover with acrylic paints. He adds a strip of beadwork and a quilled medicine wheel that features leather dangles with glass beads and metal bells. The edge of one side of the shield is finished with a leather drop, Jim hangs imitation feathers from this drop. Jim puts the leather cover over a rawhide disc. He finishes the decoration of the shield with a 3 dimensional glass beaded buffalo amulet. The piece is signed by the artist.
