Native American Hand Painted Pedestal Drum w Beater: War Party
Hand painted by Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Minneconjou Lakota Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, he commemorates the “War Party” which was sometimes necessary.
Jim uses a wooden drum that has rawhide stretched across the top and bottom. He paints the sides of the drum and the top with acrylic paint. The top of the drum is painted with the image of a spirit buffalo.
Jim decorates the outside of the drum with leather dangles, horse hair locks, metal bells and glass beads. He finalizes the decoration of the drum with a decorated drum beater.
The piece is signed by the artist.
