Native American Hand Made Two Cover Shield: Spirit of the Plains
Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Minneconjou Lakota, hand made this two cover shield, the rawhide represents your inner self and the soft leather cover represents your spiritual self.
The soft leather cover is made from commercially tanned deer hide, he paints the cover with acrylic paints and stain. He covers the rawhide disc with the cover and laces it down.
Jim finishes the decoration of this piece with a quilled medicine wheel, glass beaded buffalo amulet, metal bells, glass beads, imitation eagle feathers, a single quill wrapped dangle with tin cone and imitation eagle fluff.
