Native American artist Jim Little Wounded paints his own stylized feather design on this shield. He adds leather ties to make the feathers appear to be spinning.
Jim uses commercially tanned deer leather for the soft cover, he paints the cover with acrylic paint and stain. He stretches the leather cover over a rawhide disc. Jim hangs a strip of red wool cloth on one side of the shield and attaches imitation eagle feathers.
At the center of the shield, Jim hangs a quilled medicine wheel with quill wrapped dangles, glass beads, tin cones and imitation red tail hawk feathers.
The piece is signed by the artist.
