Native American Hand Made Axe: Hailstone & Lightning Axehead w Beaded Handle
Native American artist Rayme Little Wounded, MInneconjou Lakota Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, makes a smaller axe that can be used to chop or defend.
The head of the axe is a cold forged iron blade with cutouts to create lightning and hailstones. Rayme attaches this to a wooden handle. He decorates the handle with glass beads and metal bells.
Rayme finishes the end of the axe with a pheasant feather dangle and long horse hair that extends 22 inches from the handle.
Length 20 1/2 | Height 8 1/2 | Deep 1 1/4 inches.
