Native American Hand Carved Little Woman w Blue Dress
Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Minneconjou Lakota, hand carves this seated woman from wood, he commemorates the stories told to him by his elders about the Little People.
Jim carves the body from wood and then stains or paints the piece. He dresses her in a blue cotton dress, the dress is decorated with silk ribbon.
Jim decorates the carved woman with a breastplate, choker, earrings, buffalo hair (braided), and beaded moccasins with beaded leggings. He added a utility belt that features a beaded pouch and beaded knife sheath, he attached a little wrist bag to her hand.
