Native American Hand Carved Horse Dance Stick w Rider & Headdress
Native American artist Jim Little Wounded carves a beautiful dance stick that features a rider with a miniature headdress. This small rider and horse fly across the barriers that separate the physical world from the spirit world.
Jim uses the same piece of wood to carve the horse figure and rider. He stains the piece and then adds a painted buffalo mask on the horse, stripes, lightning on the rider, and more. Jim adds a small feathered headdress not the rider. Jim uses real horse hair for the forelock and tail and imitation eagle feathers that hang an extra 11 inches down.
Jim finishes the decoration of this piece with glass beads, metal bells and a buffalo amulet.
The piece is signed by the artist.
