Native American Hand Beaded Pipe Bag: Turquoise Colored Background
Oglala Lakota artist Brenda DuBray totally beaded the front of this pipe bag with glass beads. She creates an arrow design border and then fills in with turquoise blue beads for the background color. She really has a great eye for color combinations.
Brenda uses commercially tanned deer hide for the body of the bag, she also uses the same hide for the twisted fringe at the bottom of the pipe bag. She finishes the decoration fo the bag with bone beads, glass beads, metal cones with real horse hair and a nice long leather thong for the closure of the bag.
The actual bag measures 18 inches long by 6 inches wide, the fringe is an additional 8 inches long.
All measurements are approximate.
