Native American artist Jim Little Wounded carves a smaller version of a horse dance stick. This one features a small shield with a Thunderbird design.
Jim starts with a carved piece of wood, he stains the entire piece and then adds painted designs, he painted the spirit of the Thunderbird on the face of the horse dance stick.
Jim goes back and adds glass beads, metal spots, small pieces of buffalo fur, real horse hair, metal bells and imitation eagle feathers. He completes the decoration with a mini shield made from soft leather and painted with acrylic paints.
The piece is signed by the artist.
