Hand Painted 2-Cover Shield: Buffalo Dancers w Buffalo Amulet

This shield is created with a rawhide disc covered by a soft leather cover. Local Mnicoujou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded crafts the soft leather cover from deer hide and then paints with acrylic paint. The imagery of the Buffalo Dancers feature traditional dance regalia. 

Jim attaches a buffalo amulet made from buffalo fur and glass beads. He covers the rawhide disc crafted by Non-Native American craft worker Dan Chapman. The piece is signed by the artist.
