Non-Native American artist Chris Ravenshead creates a shirt based on historical techniques. He tans the deer hides and then paints with earth paints.
Chris decorates the shirt with commercially dyed porcupine quills, quillwork predates beadwork. He finishes the edge of each quilled strip with small glass beads.
To finish the decoration of the shirt, Chris adds wrapped hair locks on the side of each quilled and beaded strip.
The shirt sleeves (each) measure 23 inches long, the chest is about 18 inches across and the body of the shirt measures 42 inches long (from the collar to the bottom of the shirt.
All measurements are approximate.
