Goliath Birdwing

Christopher Marley is an artist and entomologist who has preserved this specimen in a contemporary black frame.

“The male Goliath Birdwings are the largest male butterflies in the world. Though they are dwarfed by their drab, brown female counterparts, only the males sport such vibrant colors. “As an internationally protected species, only captive-bred individuals resulting from propagation programs are used. “Though they are rarely seen in collections, much less artwork, it is one of the world’s most impressive species. “For our fans around the globe, the birdwing species that we carry cannot be exported from the United States. We will be happy to help you find an alternative piece to match what you are looking for.” ~Christopher Marley

Insects are preserved and displayed in a hermetically sealed (air tight) shadowbox frame.
