Hand Painted 13 Inch Hand Drum: Bear Warrior

This 13 inch hand drum is hand painted by Miniconjou Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded.  He uses a combination of free-hand painting techniques with acrylic paints to create his “Bear Warrior” design.  Jim also decorates the drum with a hand carved wooden warrior head equipped with a bear headdress made out of buffalo hair which is adorned with unique beadwork, bells, and imitation feathers. He also hand crafts a drum beater to accompany the drum utilizing leather, acrylic paints, and thoughtful beadwork.

The drum body is made by non-Native American Wayne Manthey.
