The drum body was made by non-Native American Wayne Manthey.
Local Lakota artist Jim Little Wounded, Mnicojou Cheyenne River Sioux Nation, hand paints the exciting image of a Native American hunter while hunting a buffalo. On top of the drum, a Spirit Hunter guides the chase and answers the prays for a successful hunt.
The small man is decorated with glass beads and features a tiny rawhide shield, a miniature hand rattle, metal bells and tiny imitation eagle feathers. Jim adds a decorated drum beater.
