South Dakota artist, Richard DuBois, captures the dark silhouettes of a herd of buffalo against a fiery sunset.
The dark of night is descending. A line of buffalo is looming on the horizon. They march a dark path within a crimson saturated sky in the dramatic image, “Tatanka Sunset.” The buffaloes appear in the upper half of the picture field, suggesting distance. Their shapes are sharp against the glowing dusk, and movement is visible in the artist’s use of line.
