Native American Hand Made Shield: The Buffalo Hunter

Current stock: 0

Native American artist Jim Little Wounded creates this shield with a beaded hunter on horse back. The Hunter has a long lance in his hand and a Buffalo shield in the other.

Jim uses commercially tanned deer leather for the soft cover. He paints the cover with acrylic paints and then adds a red wool cloth strip. The cloth features the beaded Hunter, imitation eagle feathers and glass beads with imitation eagle body feathers on a leather dangle. Jim puts the soft cover over a rawhide disc and then finishes the decoration of the shield with brass bells, glass beads and a tiny bundle at the center. The piece is signed by the artist.
