Native American Beaded Green Possible Bag
Dawn Yellow Bank created this beautiful beaded possible bag, an item that is still being used by Native Americans.
Dawn starts with commercially tanned deer leather that has been made completely white. She cuts the bag into the shape she wants and then adds more leather to the bottom to make fringe. The beadwork is a stunning array of greens with yellow, red, orange and black to make a beautiful stylized four directions design. Dawn has also added glass beads and copper cones to the fringe. She secures the bag closed with abalone shells and leather with glass bead thongs. The piece is signed by the artist.
