Bursera graveolens, also known in Spanish as “Palo Santo”, is a tree that’s found in South America from the Yucatan Peninsula to Peru, Ecuador, and Venezuela. Its wood, resin, and oil have been used for centuries by indigenous peoples in ceremonies and various medicinal practices. Palo Santo can be used to help remedy pain, inflammation, and stress. Similar to sage, it can even be used for smudging and alleviating negative energies.
