Donald F. Montileaux is an Oglala Lakota ledger artist who uses colored pencils and ink on antique ledger paper. "Lakota's Tipi," is a small-scale original drawing of two Lakota men conversing outside a tipi in the late evening. The paper that the artist used is a 1903 hand-written receipt from a company called Elling and Knight in Virginia City, MT. The piece is beautifully custom framed using conservation mats and museum glass.
