Don Montileaux pays homage to the indigenous warrior with his colored pencil and ink drawing, "Eagle Elk - Oglala Lakota Warrior". The lively image with feathers flying, lance in hand, and the horse racing ahead are complimented by the very significant symbol of the medicine wheel. The drawing is done on an antique Stanley County, SD Treasurer's Office tax levy record from the year 1894. Finishing the work is custom framing with conservation mats and glass.
