Description

Native American artist Mike McLeod, Bad River Band Chippewa, creates a tribute to Heyoka. Heyoka is the Lakota  word for what is considered contrary to the normal.

Mike uses a commercially processed buffalo skull that is ready to hang. He paints the skull with acrylic paints and covers the base of each horn with wool cloth and glass beads. He finishes the decoration of this piece with wrapped imitation eagle feathers and attaches white leather dots.
