Native American Made Small Penny Bag: Dark Rose White Heart w Metallic Beads

An amazing piece by local Lakota artist Emilie Ravenshead, Oglala Lakota, she uses old stock glass beads to recreate a time period favorite.

Emilie uses smoked tanned leather for the body of her bag, she adds her beadwork and then embellishes the decorations with dyed red horse hair tufts and metal cones. She fringes the outside edge of the bag, the actual bag section measures 5 3/4 inches tall by 5 inches wide by 1/4 inch deep.

Emilie finishes the bag with a glass bead wrapped handle.
