Native American Hand Painted Rawhide Shield: Buffalo Dreamer
Native American artist Thomas Ridley, Ute Mountain Ute Nation of Colorado, hand paints the image of a Buffalo Spirit who enters the dreams of a warrior.
Non-native American craft worker Dan Chapman stretched the rawhide disc. Thomas hand paints the rawhide with acrylic paints. Thomas adds wool cloth wrapped imitation golden eagle feathers and adds small leather tufts.
The piece is signed by Thomas.
