Native American Hand Painted Buffalo Skull Forehead: Desert Spirit
Native American artist Thomas Ridley, Ute Mountain Ute Nation of Colorado, hand paints this forehead to commemorates the men and women who served during Desert Storm. Native Americans have consistently served the U.S. armed forces for centuries, starting all the way back to fighting off the British.
Thomas uses a commercially processed buffalo forehead. He decorates the base of each uncovered horn with glass beads and wool cloth. He finishes the piece with imitation eagle feathers and leather dangles that feature glass beads and metal cones.
Width 24 | Height (just the forehead) 15 | Deep 11 inches
