Native American Hand Made Willow Backrest w Turtle Design

This amazing piece of hand craft work features a stylized turtle design incorporated into the backrest, Jessie Red Willow (Oglala Lakota Nation) created this genius work of art.

Jessie uses willow for the wood and ties it all together at the ends with blanket strips. The wooden rest is held up by a tripod made of more sturdy wood. Jessie finishes the decoration of this piece with a turtle shell bag and colored fluffs.
