Native American Hand Made Shield: Twin Buffalo Spirits
Native American artist Thomas Ridley, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado, hand paints this rawhide shield with the image of Twin Buffalo Spirits entering the physical world, they send rays of bravery.
Thomas uses a tanned rawhide disc, he paints the disc with acrylic paints. He finishes the decoration of the piece with imitation eagle feathers, a quilled medicine wheel, metal beads and metal bells and deer hooves.
The piece is signed by the artist.
