Native American Hand Made Shield: Sacred Dog
Native American artist Thomas Ridley, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado, creates the image of the Sacred Dog, The clouds and stars denote the heavens from which this special horse came from.
Thomas uses rawhide for the shield disc, he paints the rawhide with acrylic paints. He finishes the shield with red wool cloth, imitation eagle feathers, a cluster of imitation flicker feathers with metal bells and leather ties to secure the rawhide.
The piece is signed by the artist.
