Native American Hand Made Beaded Purse: Dragonfly
All around the world you can find dragonflies, they have influenced many cultures and can be found in some of the oldest art known to man. Oglala Lakota artist Kevin Fast Horse Sr. pays homage to this ancient insect.
Kevin uses hand cut glass Italian beads to do all of the beadwork on the front of the purse and the handle. He attaches his beadwork to commercially tanned deer leather. He lines the inside of the bag portion with felt, the actual bag portion measures 13 1/2 inches tall by 8 inches wide.
Kevin finishes the purse with long fringe, leather dangles that feature glass and metal beads and brass spots.
The piece is signed by the artist.
