Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Minneconjou Lakota Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe SD, creates a two cover shield that has deep meaning.

Our general manager sat down with Jim and this is the story that Jim gave, “I named this shield Sacred Buffalo, it depicts the original coming of the White Buffalo Calf Woman. I represented her with a white buffalo on top of the black, yellow and red buffalo. These each represent the four stages of the White Buffalo Calf’s existence with the humans. I believe we are in the third stage of her being.”

Jim paints the shield with acrylic paints. The piece is signed by the artist.
