Native American artist Jim Little Wounded, Minneconjou Lakota, hand made this shield with a soft leather covering over a rawhide shield, each shield depicts the Spirit of the person who carries it.

Jim uses commercially tanned deer leather for the soft cover. He paints the cover with acrylic paints, adorns the cover with imitation eagle feathers and imitation gosh hawk feathers. He finishes the decorations with leather fringe, a quilled medicine wheel with quill wrapped dangle and a cluster of metal bells and glass beads.

The piece is signed by the artist.
