Native American Hand Beaded Yellow Cradleboard w Geometric Pattern

Native American beadwork artist Kevin Fast Horse Sr., Oglala Lakota Nation, hand beads this beautiful cradleboard with bright yellow Italian glass beads for the background color. The yellow pairs well with the geometric pattern created with green, aqua, amber and black glass beads.

Kevin attaches his beadwork to commercially tanned deer leather and he lines the inside of the cradle with yellow felt. The leather is attached to wooden backboards that are decorated with metal tacks. He added two beaded rosettes that also feature abalone shells and leather dangles with metal and glass beads.

Kevin finishes the cradleboard with a beaded turtle amulet. The piece is signed by the artist.
